Transport System OF Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is crisscrossed by many big and small rivers and their tributaries . There a good system of canals also. So waterways have always been a good and easy means of transporting people and goods in our country. In dry season, the length of total waterways decreases but in rainy deason, the country 's total water networks come to about 8,500 miles. Different kinds of water vehicles, both traditional and modern ply through our countryside all the year round. Boats, steamers, launches, berges, ferries , tankers, trawler and even small ships carry people and goods and keep economic activities functional. We have two sea- ports and many inland water ports in different transport of passengers and goods are done through these ports. We have also organization named BIWTA which monitors inland water transport.
Bangladesh has a good network of road communication . The country has a wide network of highways and roads which have linked with all the major cities and districts towns of the country .In fact any part of the country can be reached by roads. Many bridges and culverts have made road communication easier and uninterrupted . The Jamuna multipurpose bridges has opened up a new horizon in country 's communication system which has connected the east part of the country with northern part. A huge number of buses , trucks, pick-up, lorries, coaches, micro, coasters and private cars carry millions of passengers and tons of goods everyday throughout the country .In local and remote areas, traditional and mechanical both types of vehicles and transports means are available. The country 's total road communication system is about 2,800 km of railroads. Almost all the districts are connected by rail communication . A govt organization called BRTA operates and monitors road transport while Bangladesh railway operators rail communication across the country. Besides in every districts there are inter-district bus and truck transport system owned and run by private enterprises.

A good , fast and safe communication and transport system is a must for a balanced and overall socio-economic developed of a country . Good communication and transport system speed up economic and commercial activities reduce transport cost of good and contribute to improved living standard . Govt of Bangladesh must concentrate on the development of a modern and fast communication and transports system and ensure its safely and smoothness.
